Yukihito found a handwritten notes describing a place that did not exist on any map. He had just quit his job and set out in search of this remote mountain village. It was a place where camellia bloomed out of season, autumn colours came out early, and red flowers were everywhere. The surrounding forest was so intensely red he thought it would drive him mad.
When he regained his senses, he was in the village of Kimachi. He had passed out on the outskirts and was unconscious for three days. The locals greeted him as a marebito, a divine figure who brought wealth and joy. This year was crucial for them since it was the time of the once-every-twenty-year Hanasaki Festival. Two lovely ladies catered to his every need. They were born to carry on a treasured ritual that dates back to ancient times: welcoming the god who would visit them.
