A video-game genre where the player runs or manages a fictional setting, like a business or city, with the use of several stats that need to be managed effectively to reach specific goals. Most games from this genre also requires a careful management of a limited resource, usually money, time or energy, that players must distribute, spend and organize to maximize efficiency. These games may also include several stats for the characters, like keeping the staff or customers happy or comfortable, which can unlock new interactions, scenes or abilities.
