On rereading the JAST script

The JAST 2014 English script is stronger than its reputation; the meme-forward fan patches that circulated before it are frankly worse. "El Psy Kongroo" is kept untranslated, which is the right call — it's a character's ritual phrase, not a line of dialogue.

Daru's otaku speech cadence is where you can tell a translator cared. In the JAST script it reads clean; in the older patches it reads like a transcript of someone typing. If the jokes land in English, it's because someone rebuilt them in English — not because they survived.
